By using the following recipe you do not have to go to the bother of making fresh tea every week for the birds.
Boil the above in 2 liters of water for 5 minutes. To this add :
Dissolve the sugar into the hot tea and let the whole thing cool off.
When the tea and sugar mixture has cooled off add:
Keep in a glass jar in a cool dark place (refrigerator)
Use one tablespoon of the above mix to one liter of fresh water at the beginning of the week during the racing season. During the moulting season it can be used several days in a row every week.
The above recipe comes from an article in the Duif written by Victor Vansalen about Jos Thone. The recipe was given to Jos by his friend Albert Willems.
TIP: To make the garlic and onion juice I used a $40.00 juicer from a local hardware store. It worked great. Just don't do it in the house get out to the garage. I learned the hard way the garlic juice leaves a lasting impression in the house. Editor
